Good News! Our Days of Prayer have Recommenced
Walk With Mary 2021Cancelled due to State Govt Covid Regulations on Processions,
Instead, on this same day, Sunday 21st March we are having the following celebration at St Colman's Balaclava. Please come to give honour and praise to Our Lady:
Special Day of Prayer in Honour of
The Annunciation
Incorporating the Feast of
Our Lady of Lourdes
and the
First Class Relic of St Bernadette Soubirous
St Colman's Church 293 Carlisle Street Balaclava
Sunday 21st March , 2021
St Colman's is a huge Church which will allow for a large gathering that will still meet social distancing requirements
It is with great joy that we announce that effectively the 2 Feasts will be combined. On the 21st March we will be having the blessing with the Lourdes water, the First Class Relic of St Bernadette, and a tribute to Our Lady of Lourdes.
This celebration will be a consolation for many who were saddened by the fact that the wonderful Walk With Mary had to be canceled this year due to the current covid restrictions with the limits at the Cathedral and in the streets that simply made the event impossible. Yet God will be so pleased to see us doing what we can to commemorate the marvellous Feast of the Annunciation in a special manner.
How special it is to combine the two celebrations. The Annunciation is the pivotal point in history, when God became man in the person of Jesus Christ in the spotless womb of the Blessed

Virgin Mary. He through whom the universe was created began His earthly sojourn at that blessed moment when Mary responded in Faith: Let it be done to me according to Your word.”
The Almighty honoured this Feast when He ordained that Mary should announce to the world on this special Feast day of the Annunciation, on 25th March 1858 through St Bernadette that “I am the Immaculate Conception.”
It was this beautiful pronouncement on this day that made all the difference at Lourdes. It won over the Parish Priest, it convinced so many who had been undecided. It was the day Bernadette would never forget.
This beautiful celebration will be at St Colman’s Church 293 Carlisle Street Balaclava. It is a huge Church, a very beautiful Church and one that allows adequate social distancing.
The First Class Relic of St Bernadette will be present. This is a piece of her incorrupt flesh. You may be knowing that the Body of St Bernadette is incorrupt. One can still see her in Nevers France in a glass case that holds her perfectly intact body. Bernadette is such a special and powerful saint. What a special grace this will be.
As in previous years we will be having blessing of the congregation with water from Lourdes itself.
In Lourdes so many of the miracles occur now when the priest or bishop passes through the congregation blessing everyone with Our Lord in the monstrance. This great grace will also take place at St Colman’s Church.
Please do encourage your friends and loved ones to join us on this day. Especially invite those who are sick or in difficulties to come and experience Our Mother’s healing hand. Distance is no difficulty to Our Lady. All She looks for is your trusting and loving hearts confident in what God can do for us through Her.
