Celebration in Honour of the Assumption of Our Lady
Sunday 11th August
St Colman's Church Balaclava 2 pm
February 14, 2016
A rich and beautiful day will be held to honour Our Lady’s Assumption. We are delighted to announce that Father Pascal OFM Conv. and Brother Louis OFM Conv. will be with us on that day. People raved last year on just how magnificent the day was and what a grace filled day it was, and we are indeed expecting the same this year.
God is increasingly showing us that it is only through Our Lady that He will triumph. Politics have failed, despite the wonderful efforts of many dedicated and well meaning people. They will surely be blessed for their efforts. But the time has come for all of us to realise that, as in the past, it will only be through Our Lady, through people turning to Her that His Kingdom will come.
Do be part of something great, something much bigger than any of us and all of us.

Come and honour Our Lady. Come and be blessed by God. How he showers His blessings on all who honour Our Lady, and seek her intercession.
Of all the beautiful Feasts in honour of Our Lady this is one of the most beautiful. It tells us of the fidelity of God. How God rewards the virtuous. It gives us hope. Our Mother was assumed body and soul into heaven. It is Her special role to work tirelessly interceding for us Her children so that we may be united with Her in Heaven there to sing God’s praises for all eternity.
Mary’s special attribute is love. A love that is beyond what we can imagine. Let us pray on this special day that She may impart to all of us a share in her intense love of God. The love of God was in fact so intense in the person of Mary that in an instant her body was transformed and assumed into Heaven. She is ready to intercede for us but she awaits our response. Please come on that day to receive great blessings from God. Please tell many others of the great graces in stall.

Father Pascal loves Our Lady deeply and gave us such a wonderful contemplation on the beauties of the Feast. Brother Louis gave a motivational talk that many insisted were one of the best talks they had ever heard. How fortunate we are to have such excellent priests and religious.
We are triply blessed to have coming the First Class relic of St Anthony of Padua and the First Class relic of St Francis of Assisi. These will be available at the end of the afternoon for your own private veneration. Do remember to touch your rosaries or medals to either or both so that they in turn will be third class relics.
